But this, of course, not here ...

Educational program: how the breath
Breathing process comprises, firstly, a breath of air into the lungs, and then removing air from the lungs of. When you receive air diaphragm (muscular layer between the rib cage and peritoneum) moves down, thickening to some extent. The space between the ribs expands. This creates a slight vacuum in the lung and the outside air is sucked in to fill the lungs. Exhalation is passive process and does not require effort. (The elastic diaphragm returns to its original position and does lungs flat, pushing out inhaled air). In normal quiet breathing at all this goes from 4 to 6 seconds. During this short period of time air flows between the gas exchange, the rich oxygen in the alveoli and blood rich in carbon dioxide in the capillaries covering them. As a rule, breath - the automatic process that occurs at a rate of 10-15 breaths per minute, and on it we do not pay substantial attention. This automatic nature of breath is very important for our lives, because every cell in our body needs constant provision of oxygen. Brain cells are particularly sensitive, and oxygen starvation within a few minutes, they die and never recovered again.

Breathing is not always automatic and, unlike processes of digestion and cardiac activity, we can suppress the respiratory center in the brain and detain our breath. The group of cells controlled breathing is generally termed "respiratory center" which is located at the rear of the brain known as the medulla oblongata.
