May 1, 2013 will start a joint project of the Russian Book Union and international advertising agency JWT Russia against online piracy of the book entitled "A world without books? We are against! ". It aims to encourage people to think about the consequences of indiscriminate illegal downloading e-books online. The campaign will be prepared themed posters with the image of the great Russian writers in the unusual role. They will be hung in the streets, in bookstores, appeared on the Internet.
If in the XIX century to steal the book would be as easy as it is now, many writers would have to change his profession. Thus, the physician Anton Chekhov, perhaps, would never have written "Three Sisters", Sergei Yesenin from a peasant family could become a butcher, Fyodor Dostoevsky would have found another way to earn money to squander it in gambling.
The authors of the project expect to make people think about the possible consequences of downloading pirated books online and to preserve labor favorite writers.
