At the ceremony, the president of "Kinotavr" Alexander Rodnyanskii talked about mass communication and auteur cinema. He said that the main aim of the festival was to unite these phenomena cinema.
The first award was presented already at the opening of the Chairman of the jury Alexander Mitta received an honorary prize as "an outstanding film director, strict educator and inventor naughty."
During the festival, in addition to the main 12 paintings will be presented 21 short films.
A special display will show the latest film by Gennady Sidorov "Novel with Cocaine" and the film festival will close on June 9 picture "Farewell" Dmitry Konstantinov.
