Parure or Parure - a set of jewelry, hand-picked by the material, style and technique of execution. The term came into use in the late XVIII - early XIX centuries. Then there were all the rage so-called big Parure, including necklaces, brooches, paired bracelets, earrings, hair ornaments and tiaras. Especially large Parure consisted of 12-15 items. Entirely put them only in the most solemn occasions - for example, the balls with the presence of members of the royal family. In less grand surroundings were poluparyury or small Parure including 3-5 items. Jewellery belonging to such sets were made not only of the gems of the first category, but also of the more affordable: garnet, coral or amber.
Today, the term is almost out of use - jewelry sets are increasingly called Seth, and fashion for a large number of similar items already passed. Ceremonial large sets with diadems were in the royal vaults and put on a very festive events like weddings, anniversaries or coronations.
